Admission requirements differ from Undergraduate to Graduate Studies.
Requirements for Undergraduate Admission
To become an eligible applicant for undergraduate programs in the U.S. schools, a student must have completed twelve years of full study in school or college (+2 or PCL or Intermediate in the context of Nepal). Students need to submit following documents in general (requirements differ from one institution to another) to be considered for admission at the Undergraduate level:
Academic Transcripts (SLC, & Higher Secondary)
Diploma or Provisional Certificate
At least, two Recommendation Letters from academic teachers
Well-written Statement of Purpose (Some institutions have the topics to write an essay instead of SoP or both)
A copy of Passport
A copy of Citizenship
Affidavit of Support from Sponsor
Evidence of Financial support available in the name of sponsor to cover the cost of at least one academic year. (Usually Bank Balance Certificate)
SAT Test Score to be sent through College Board), if required by the institution
TOEFL Test Scores sent through the ETS or IELTS Sheet sent through The British Council or IDP
Requirements for Graduate Admission
To become an eligible applicant for Graduate programs in the U. S. school, a student must have completed sixteen years (120 credits) of full time study in School or College other than elementary education. In some cases, student with fifteen years of full time academic qualification can also be considered for a Graduate Admission, but it purely depends on the institution.
Generally, students need to turn in following documents to be considered for admission (Please be advised that requirements differ from one program to another or one school to another):
Bachelors Level’s Academic Certificates
Academic Certificates of Higher Secondary Level
Academic Certificates of School Leaving Certificate
Three letters of recommendation from one or two Academic Instructors and an employer, if an applicant is employed.
Well-written Statement of Purpose/Research Proposal
A Copy of Passport
A Copy of Citizenship
Affidavit of Support from Sponsor
Evidence of Financial Support available in the name of sponsor to cover the cost of at least one academic year.
GMAT Test Score (only for MBA students) to be sent through the GMAC, if required by the Institution
Or
GRE Test Score (for the students applying for other than MBA programs) sent through ETS, if required by the Institution.
TOEFL test scores sent through the ETS or IELTS from The British Council.
